You got to be very careful while speaking on social media as you will be exposed to the whole world, and you just don’t know who is watching you.
Unfortunately, this person got to know this valuable lesson the hard way after paying the price for a stupid act. A twitter user who claimed to have been accepted for an internship for US Space Agency NASA, lost a dream because of a tweet.
The person in question, who goes by the Twitter handle @NaomiH_official, tweeted: “EVERYONE SHUT THE FUCK UP. I GOT ACCEPTED FOR A NASA INTERNSHIP.”
Another person responded to the tweet: “Language”. Things would have been fine if that tweet was taken as a warning, but no, there was more to come.
Naomi replied: “Suck my dick and balls I’m working at NASA.”
Now, watch out for the epic reply. The person on the other hand happened to be Homer Hickam – a Vietnam war veteran, a former-NASA engineer, astronaut trainer, and – crucially – a member of the board that regulates NASA, the National Space Council.
Naomi got the reply of her life by the man himself, he replied: “And I am on the National Space Council that oversees NASA.”
Naomi then deleted the tweet, but it was a bit too late. Soon, people started to jump in.
One Twitter user said: “I can’t believe @NASA gave an internship to someone who didn’t know who Homer Hickem was.”
She has been reportedly told that she will not be considered for the job.
