32-year old fruit vendor hacked to death while he was partying with friends at a residential Layoutlin Thalagattapura area. The victim was partying with two of his friends in an open area on Friday night. He later sent one of his friend to get kababs, when five armed miscreants attacked and killed him.
The victim has been identified as Rahamathulla, a resident of Avalahalli. The incident took place around 10 pm, the victim along with two of his friends were partying and consuming liquor at an open area in a private residential layout. The victim sent his friend to get kababs as side dishes with the alcohol. Within five minutes, a gang of assailants came near the victim and asked his other friend to leave the spot. The friend was threatened with weapons and he escaped after which the accused attacked the fruit vendor and hacked him to death.
An officer part of the investigations, said
“Meanwhile, the other friend who had gone to get kebabs returned and saw the victim lying unconscious and profusely bleeding. When Rahamathulla was being shifted to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to the injuries. The reason for the murder is yet to be ascertained. The accused might have kept a watch on the victim before killing him. However, the friend who was threatened and sent away has claimed that an argument broke out between the victim and the gang over a trivial issue which resulted in the murder.”
A case of murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered by the Thalagattapura police.
