Super Cop Buys Stuff For Woman Who Was Caught Shoplifting For Kids’ School Clothes

The unidentified mom was caught red-handed while trying to shoplift clothes for her children to wear at the start of the new school year. The store employees reported the incident to police and Fairfield Police Sgt. Hector Irizarry reached to spot and took the suspect under custody.

But, what followed surprised everybody. The officer noticed that the bag just had children clothing and he soon realized the stuff were actually for the kids.

The sensitive officer, being a father, understood the situation and decided to pay for the stolen clothes instead of punishing her.

He said: “I took the clothes over the cash register, I decided to pay for them myself, and she didn’t know what I was doing … Of course, she got emotional, the person with her got emotional, and she asked ‘what can I do to pay you back?”

The officer just asked her to pay him back one day. Meanwhile, he hopes the story shows “law enforcement in a positive light.”

“It was just something I felt compelled to do, and it really came from the heart,” he said.
